Solution Overview
The Outdoor Waterproof Equipment Enclosure Solution addresses the most underestimated challenge in IoT and smart city deployments: the physical protection of edge devices. While much engineering effort goes into selecting sensors, gateways, and communication modules, the enclosure that protects these devices in outdoor environments often receives insufficient attention — with costly consequences.
Water ingress, UV degradation, condensation, cable corrosion, and mechanical damage from vibration or vandalism are the leading causes of edge device failures in outdoor deployments. This solution provides standardized, properly specified enclosures with appropriate IP ratings, UV-resistant materials, waterproof cable glands, anti-condensation provisions, and secure mounting systems for every type of outdoor edge device.
The solution is particularly valuable for large-scale IoT deployments where hundreds or thousands of edge nodes must be protected consistently. Standardized enclosure specifications enable bulk procurement, consistent installation quality, and simplified maintenance procedures across the entire deployment.

System Workflow
Device Installation
Edge device (sensor, gateway, controller) is mounted on the internal mounting plate using DIN rail clips or direct fasteners. Cable routing within the enclosure is organized to avoid interference with the door seal.
Cable Entry & Sealing
External cables (power, network, sensor) are routed through IP68 waterproof cable glands. Gland compression nuts are tightened to the specified torque to maintain IP rating. Unused ports are sealed with blanking plugs.
Internal Wiring
Power and signal connections are made between the cable glands and the internal device. Connections are secured with appropriate terminals or connectors to prevent loosening from vibration.
Grounding Connection
The enclosure grounding lug is connected to the site grounding system. Internal device grounding is connected to the internal grounding bar.
Sealing & Closure
The door gasket is inspected for damage before closing. The enclosure is closed and latched securely. IP rating integrity is verified by checking gasket compression.
Device Communication
The installed device communicates with the management platform via wireless (4G/5G/LoRa/NB-IoT) or wired (Ethernet/fiber) connection through the sealed cable glands.
